My company has started a project where we will be deploying/monitoring Juniper firewalls (SSG series) and my manager wants me to get certified. I will be self studying for the JNCIS-FWV (I already have 2 of the 4 books recommended by Juniper website) but I'm confused about setting up a lab. I tried to google what other…
Hey guys, I'm building an Olive here and was having some trouble on this page: Olive reloaded or how to emulate Juniper routers | GNS3 Qemu keep saying that it is unable to boot from the CD when using this command: qemu -m 256 -hda olive-base.img -cdrom 4.11-RELEASE-i386-miniinst.iso \-boot d -localtime I placed the ISO on…
Hi people, i would love to receive a suggestion on what physical devices i should buy, in order to practise with switching. Im studying for jncia and i have only one physical device, a srx-100b and of course olive. I would love to study switches so i need a suggestion on what models of switches i have to buy on ebay.…
Passed JCNIA today, on to JCNIS-Sec. I agree with what other have written, it isn't a hard test, esp. if you already have pretty solid networking knowledge. The free materials from Juniper are enough, as long as your existing skills are reasonable. I only studied the pdfs maybe 6-8 hours, with another 2-3 hours with 2…
Just an FYI for everybody. On February 15th, 2013 the Juniper Networks Certification Program will replace the existing JN0-632 Security, Professional (JNCIP-SEC) certification exam with the JN0-633 Security, Professional (JNCIP-SEC) exam. This change reflects an update to the exam. However, please note that there is no…
Hi I am looking at doing another cert after my Network+ and the JNCIA-Junso exam is one I'm considering. Would this be as hard as the CCENT/CCNA for someone with my level of experience? I have no Cisco experience either. Is there an all in one up to date study guide for it? Or would the stuff on their website be enough?…
Good Morning all, Is the Virtual Chassis Junper technology simliar to Ciscos Stack wise technology?
Hey guys, I'm finished playing with this NFR EX4200 and was curious if anyone would be up for trading it for some SRX kit (studying for JNCIE-SEC), or something else interesting. Here's the currently installed HW (SN omitted): root@EX4200> show chassis hardware Hardware inventory: Item Version Part number Serial number…
I have my JNCIA Junos, and want to go for JNCIS Sec certification, apparently Junosphere has SRX now ? Value wise do people think it is better to just fork out the $500 odd on a SRX 100, or spend the money Junosphere time ? Keep in mind I have no other juniper equipment at home, and I have no space for any new equipment…
Used a free voucher from my SRX bootcamp they brought in at work and got my JNCIS-ENT today! I'm still surprised how elementary the test system is compared to Cisco's. I was expecting simlets and drag and drops and the whole shebang... Either way, going in at a CCNP level, it was a pretty decent exam. Onward to JNCIP!
