I tried to get my A+ recently, I failed the 801 my first time then passed the second time. I took my 802 for the first time last week and failed by 30 points. Since I was so close I decided to study that weekend and then retake it as soon as I could but I failed again except this time I did 100 points worse than the first…
I've Googled for this but not seeing it anywhere. Anyone know how long this test has been out? I'm looking at CompTIA again for the first time in a few years but not sure when this one will expire. I'm looking forward to visiting Ol' Professor Messer again :)
Hi All, Long time lurker, first time poster. I just passed my Security+ today with a score of 820/900 . I wanted to take some time to share my experience with taking this exam and perhaps it can help some of you out there who are planning to take the exam in the near future. I studied/prepared for the exam roughly 2 months…
Passed by the hair on my chin. 763! Read the first 4 chapters of Gibson's Security+: Get Certified Get Ahead in about a week and a half and decided to take a shot at it since I had a free retake if I didn't pass... Was tougher than I thought it would be, probably because I didn't go read all the material and didn't know…
Hey all, Test was hard only because of how they word the test... so confusing! Here are my study materials I used and studied in this order: 1. Professor Messer Lecture Videos 2. Gibson Book 3. Examcram Book + **** Sheet 4. Gibson Premium Simulation and Practice Questions (THIS IS A MUST!) (400 Questions) 5. Examcram…
Scored 874. To be honest it wasn't as difficult as I thought it was going to be. The hardest part is reading the question and figuring out what they are trying to get at. Whoever wrote the exam needs a serious lesson in punctuation and grammar. Other than that, most of the questions were familiar to me. I used Darril's…
Hey guys. gave my Secuirty+ on 1st July. Scored 827/900. For the prep i saw the cbt nuggets videos (basically Keith Barker is just reading the Darril Gibson's book), Darril Gibson' book and the sybex book. Darril Gibson's book is the best when it comes to explaining the fundamentals. He has done a gr8 job at that. The exam…
Hi ..I am new to this forum. I am taking my security plus exam during the first week of July. I have been studying the Darrell Gibson Book, David Prowse Book, Exam Compass, Exam Cram, Professor Messer Videos, and been doing practice test questions from these sources. The simulations from the Dave Prowse DVD has been…
So I've set myself a target of sitting the exam in 5 weeks time, roughly studying 2 hours per day everyday. I'm currently almost half way through Darril Gibsons book. After the book I plan to knock out Professor Messer Videos and CBT nuggets, then move straight to practice exams. Would this be sufficient time for this…
What a relief. I was very nervous this morning before the exam today since this is my very first time taking any CompTIA exams. Score wasn't that great but pass is a pass..lol Even though I don't really post much on the forum but I've been lurking for awhile and got a lot of information and tips here and I do appreciate it.
