I've been trying to fully understand how iSCSI thin provisioning and allocation really works: followed several youtube videos and read several guides around and I believe it's quite clear how and when to use it. But a collegue of mine does not agree with me. There are some Nas on the market implementing thin provisioning…
After the failed attempt at VCDX last year, I've been somewhat aimless. The prep for VCDX attempt was exhausting and even before that I was on a one year VCAP tear. I needed some time to recharge my battery and figure out what I wanted to do next. After trying out various things, I'll be focusing my effort on vCenter…
Anybody has any experience with the "intro VMware 5.1 View Client" class at North Lake College? I am trying to figure out exactly what this class is. Here is the link: CE Course Schedule - Spring 2015 - North Lake College Go to VMware and you will see the class listed. Is this VMware Horizon Suite? I will request…
Am I hopeless? I just upgraded my CPU to a Core 2 Quad Q9550 as I was trying to save money rather than doing a rebuild. I should also mention that I had to replace the motherboard for it as well as I had an accident with the first installation, which wasn't pretty. I ran ESXi in Virtualbox on top of my Windows 7 64-bit…
Hello, Anybody here experienced in OpenStack and devOps model? I am trying to wrap my head around how companies that do use this model support it? What does the support model look like for example? I am very familiar with structured support models where there are release notes/ change management / communications /…
I am building a home lab to run HyperV for the MCSA and down the road VMWare. I have ESET Smart Security installed on my host server, but should I have AV installed on every VM as well? I plan on running Server 2012 mostly, with a few windows 7 VMs as well. If you do use AV on your VMs, what are you using? Thanks Folks. B
Morning mates, any chance to get a working vcap5 voucher for Itay? Many thanks in advance for your help. Cheers Vinc
Hi, Is better a vmware or juniper cert for work in a DC?
Hi all, So yesterday I learn something from the other tech in regards to P2V, in the sense that you need to remove all the old drivers from the device manager. Besides the device manager 'clean-up', what other things should I do after a P2V conversion to the VM? - I don't recall reading about this in my studies so I'm…
I've been tasked with looking into DR solutions. We're using Veeam right now and we're mostly a linux shop. Veeams inability to do the re-IP without a bunch of scripting is really turning most of the team off. I know VMWare has SRM and right now that's probably my first choice. I want to be fair though and review other…
