Starting WGU Today... Course / Cert Exam Alignment?

After a discussion with my mentor, the classes we ended up selecting for my first term are Networks, and IT Fundamentals II/III, which translates into completing CompTIA Network+ and A+ certifications. While I am not anticipating much difficulty, I am curious about how well the WGU course material aligns with the exams. Does anyone ever feel the need to seek out additional study resources when preparing for the exams?
I am asking this question about all courses at WGU that require a certification, not necessarily just the ones I started with.

ratbuddy Member Posts: 665I didn't look much at the WGU material. For Network+, a week of Professor Messer videos plus the WGU practice tests were enough. For A+, if you already have some background, just read Exam Cram or watch the Professor Messer videos, do the WGU practice tests, and you'll be good to go.

If they are, I will just use those only and then take the exams. If not, I am just going to use other resources that I know will be geared towards the exam, such as CBT nuggets.
I expect to knock them out within the next week or so, but just wasnt sure how well the classes match with the exams... if they are current or not, etc.
Thanks again. -

emerald_octane Member Posts: 613I've taken 3x vendor certs when working with WGU and I typically skip over their material.
They did provide official cisco resources for the CCENT as well as official courseware for CHFI and CEH, but I often augmented be it practice tests or anything else. Never used the uCertify material as I hear it was a waste of time that doesn't really cover much at all. -

Thanks emerald_octane. This is exactly the type of answer I was looking for... thank you very much. -
