I use PuTTY for practice but I was wondering do people use that at work as well? or do they use something more professional from cisco?

You can manage multiple sessions that way and have your AAA credentials pre-entered:study:Reading: Lab Books, Ansible Documentation, Python Cookbook 2018 Goals: More Ansible/Python work for Automation, IPSpace Automation Course [X], Build Jenkins Framework for Network Automation []

wes allen Member Posts: 540 ■■■■■□□□□□Teraterm is what I used to use when I did more networking stuff, putty just seems clunky or something. Now I mostly just use a linux vm to ssh to other linux machines, since I usually have one open anyway. Would probably buy SecureCRT if I started needing ssh from a windows box.

xnx Member Posts: 464 ■■■□□□□□□□I've never worked on a production network (yet) but have spent many hours on my CCNP topology lab and also SSH'ing into many other devices.
I would really struggle to use Putty all the time, when I was doing a Mininet / Openflow SDN Project I had to use Putty and it was painful.Getting There ...

ZOC, SecureCRT are my choices for terminal access. I'd even use SuperPuTTY before reg PuTTYModularity and Design Simplicity:

SteveO86 Member Posts: 1,423I use both. Even bought a personal copy of SecureCRT since the last place I was at did not use it. I prefer it for it for the 'send chat to all' box and I configured the automatic logging for every session. Comes in handy when reviewing changes or outages.
I still use putty everyday as well for those one-off devices I don't have a session for in SecureCRT.My Networking blog
