Should I go for VCP-DCV?

My ultimate goal is to become a network engineer and recently I passed CCENT.
My local community college is offering the VCP-DCV for 138$ and the test will be at at a discount price of 70~$. However it will be June 10th or so. I dont believe that will be enough time for me to study for the ICND2. Since i have the ICND1, should I postpone my ICND 2 studies after I get VCP-DCV.
can this be a helpful cert for obtaining a role as a network administrator/engineer?

Others might say otherwise though!

It's very embarrassing to be the go to guy on your network team, but one day have a VMware ticket stop you dead in your tracks.
