Should I go for VCP-DCV?

My ultimate goal is to become a network engineer and recently I passed CCENT.

My local community college is offering the VCP-DCV for 138$ and the test will be at at a discount price of 70~$. However it will be June 10th or so. I dont believe that will be enough time for me to study for the ICND2. Since i have the ICND1, should I postpone my ICND 2 studies after I get VCP-DCV.

can this be a helpful cert for obtaining a role as a network administrator/engineer?

I know some opinions might vary but in my opinion that is a great price for a VCP course and would familiarize you with virtualization/VMware and with most environments I have seen knowing VMware would be beneficial so I think it would be worth pursuing. Others might say otherwise though!

my main concern is if it will beneficial as a network engineer to know virtualization, I'm not worried if i lose 140 bucks, just want to know if it's a good asset to have as a network engineer

It is not just beneficial, I'd say it's becoming critical, as most aspects of networks are becoming virtualized from servers to networking devices. It's very embarrassing to be the go to guy on your network team, but one day have a VMware ticket stop you dead in your tracks.
