I am trying to learn about Windows server or any server based application. I am totally a newbie and don't know anything about servers. I have used them minimally in my IT job; what cerification would be appropriate? Does Network+ cover the basics of server application, including Windows Server?
Much appreciated!

Network+ is a vendor neutral exam that covers networking topics.

If you want to work with Windows server look into the MCSA 2012 exams.
