I have completed my application. I still have to take the assessment test and then I will be getting started. I am transferring in 3 CIW certs, and an AAS in IT-Networking. I also have taken 24 hours at a 4 year school previously. Once I get my transfer plan and everything I will keep you updated.. Once I complete the assessment i will have a better handle on what I have to complete.

    Still waiting for my transcript approval to come back and see what classes I have left. On a side note I have purchased Darril's Security+ book and am begging to study that to be ready for the test when I start in a couple of weeks.

    I have completed 24 credit hours at a 4 year school. The classes should wave my literature and humanities classes.

    I received my transcript review from WGU. I have transferred in 72 CUs so only need to complete 50 CUs. I have asked my enrollment counselor to look at 10 of my CUs becuase I believe I should be able to waive them from my transcripts I transferred in.

    The Capstone is a different code based on your IT track. For example, my capstone in the Software Track is RHT1. Tech Writing is the same however.

    Also the rest of my semester looks like this CRV1-Networks, BNC1- Organizational Behavior and Leadership, IWT1- Literature, Arts and the Humanities- Analysis and Interpretation

    BNC1 is fairly easy to just test out of. I'd knock that out real quick :D

    Your mentor may require it in order to issue you the voucher. I would recommend taking the practice exam at least once. I think it is similar to the exam.

    Update... So things have been hectic at my job. One of my managers has moved on and now I am assisting with the workload. My goal is to have BNC1 completed by next friday and then work on the security + for the rest of the month, then i will spend 2 weeks on Network + and 1 week on the Humanities project. That should take me to the middle of october. Then i will start taking PA from other classes and then go based on score for classes to add and take.

    So i have yet to complete any CU's which sucks but do to work and travel I am where I am. I have 11 weeks to knock out atleast 3cu because according to my Mentor I have enough total credit hours to only need 3cu to make Financial Aide. So I am going to keep studying for the Security+ and knock that out and have my certification.

    I am working on IWT1 and submitted task 1 and then the revisions. So need to do task 2. I am taking the BNC1 this Friday at 10pm. So if all goes as planned I will for sure have 9 of my 12 credits by the end of the term. If I can sneak in the Net+ at the end I will.

    What is the policy if you fail the Cert exam? Will WGU give you another voucher?

    WGU allows up to two vouchers for any given exam, and after that you must pay out of pocket for each additional attempt.

    I'm sorry to hear that you haven't completed any CU's after 3.5 months. If things continue like this, your degree is going to end up being VERY expensive by the time you are done.

    I'm pretty sure you have to complete at least half with passing. There was something in the orientation about it. You'll be put on probation, and then from there if you don't complete the next semester you will not qualify for any more financial aid.

    SRabiee, Yes it is crap that I havent gotten anything done. I tried to switch my start date because i knew what was coming up at work. The enrollment counselor talked me out of it and thus here i am.

    Shdwmage- Yes you have to do a minimun of 3cu or you get probabtion.

    If you don't mind me asking, what score did you get on the pre-assessment for BNC1? I am taking the assessment on Thursday and my pre-assessment from yesterday was a 72%. Naturally, I am studying my weak areas.

    Ok so I took the BNC1 just now and got a 52% with a cut score of 51% that means I passed. I am glad I need to turn in IWT1 Task 2 and I'm done till Capstone and Tech Writing(which I have almost completed from work). So I made my 3 cu and can continue on to Semester 2. YAY!!!

    So really wanna start off the semester right. I have laid out a calendar and realistic study goals to allow me to knock allot of my remaining CUs out. Up First is CTV1- Security+ and for this i have the Darril Gibson Book. I will begin studying today. I plan to read for 2 hours every night. Then on the weekends hit 4 hours a day. With this schedule I feel I will be ready in 3-4 Weeks to take the exam.

    Any one have any thoughts?

    I just took and passed Principals of Management today. I have 1/2 of IWT1 Task 2 left to complete and will do so this week. That puts me knocking out 2 classes in 2 weeks of the start of the semester. I am then going to focus on Sec+ and Net+ and try to get those done quickly. After that I need to take a non-WGU cert in the ITIL for work and then will continue.
