vlan help

hi using boson sim and want to configure vlan but in the switch 2900 i want to configure vtp mode server and domain but in the global configuration mode doesnt allowed me to do that. it gave me error.

m i doing anything wrong? help me out here plz.

u should realize that all switches are by default in server mode and u only need to change the others to client and make sure ur using the right switch bcuz it should work and make sure ur in configuration mode if u rnt at the prompt, Switch(config)#, then the command wont work otherwise it must be the simulator

An example where the name of the domain is going to be "word"

Switch that should be the server:-
(from global configuration mode)
vtp domain word
vtp mode server

Switch that should be the client:-
(from global configuration mode)
vtp domain word
vtp mode client

hi thnx to u both for your reply. that was just example even if i m trying to mode in client it is giving me problem but i will check again and see if i m not doing any silly mistake.
