Hi guys new to the forum, and was trying to get some advice about a career in the IT field. I worked as a tech support agent with Wipro for 2 years before landing a job with Scientific games as their Production Support engineer. At Scientific games, I basically troubleshoot, monitor, and maintain Linux Systems for several state lottery jurisdictions. We also work with SQL server running queries, and back up large data files, as well as change out the hard drives for a bunch of our server racks, and do other miscellaneous hardware and software installations for our National Data Center. Its for the most part an entry level job. i've only been there for about a year and was wondering should I start looking else where or give it another year; and if so, what should I be searching for. I don't make too much, only about 40k. Oh and i have no college degree, i went for about 3 years and had to stop going do to finances. Nor do I have any certs

Without a degree or certs, finding a new job may be difficult. Check with your current employer for tuition reimbursement or covering your cert tests.

My company does cover tuition reimbursement....I was thinking of going after the LPIC
