First try adding a clock rate to the DCE serial interface.
To find out the DCE int
show controllers s 0
to add clocking
int s0
clock rate 64000Networking, sometimes i love it, mostly i hate it.Its all about the $$$$ -
patelhari Member Posts: 30 ■■□□□□□□□□if i configure my s0 first with no shut command and then i realize that i have to configure clock rate and i did so it doesnt make any difference. i.e i have to configure first clock rate and then i have to go for other things. :I like to play around with 11111111.11111111.11111111.00000000

multiple ways,im sure if you make some effort in reading the other threads you will discover your fault be it hardware for configuration.Networking, sometimes i love it, mostly i hate it.Its all about the $$$$ -
he-man Member Posts: 49 ■■□□□□□□□□assign your ip info first, then the clock rate (not sure if it makes a difference which way around it is done?)
eg.
int s0
ip address 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.255.0
clock-rate 64000
Also make sure the DCT end of the cable is plugged into your serial port not the DTE and that it is seated properly. Do you have another DTE/DCE cable you can try? -
patelhari Member Posts: 30 ■■□□□□□□□□yes i will check on both of your suggestionsI like to play around with 11111111.11111111.11111111.00000000

It could be a number of things, mismatched encapsulations, clocking, IPs...
Are you connecting to a switch or another router? But just go thru the normal troublshooting. Most likely it will be something simple...."To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield."
