Defcon 2014
Only 2 months away. Guess its time to ask the question again. Who is gonna be there?
I'll be at DEFCON and Las Vegas B-Sides. I'm not wasting my convention budget on BlackHat.

What training? -
Iristheangel Mod Posts: 4,133 ModI would love to go and be a goon again but I don't think I have enough time this year. Being that I have a new job and a wedding this year, I just don't really have the bandwidth

docrice Member Posts: 1,706 ■■■■■■■■■■This is sad, but I couldn't remember what I signed up for so I had to go digging for the info. I apparently signed up for The Shellcode Lab and Linux Lockdown and Proactive Security 2-day classes.Hopefully-useful stuff I've written: http://kimiushida.com/bitsandpieces/articles/

@Iristheangel - I hear it's very popular to have weddings in Vegas
@docrice - sounds like you have quite the agenda planned. Don't forget to have fun -
Iristheangel Mod Posts: 4,133 ModCertainly cheaper than what it's running me if I just got Elvis to give us the vows in the drive thru. Sadly, it wouldn't be legal in that state

On a positive note...you probably don't want your anniversary to collide with DEFCON each year anyways... Congrats!!! -

Also, roughly how much does it cost? tickets+airfair+hotel....When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened."

...seriously, of the 34 years I've been on this earth, 2006 is hands down the year I would NOT want to go back to (or through)Working on: staying alive and staying employed -
docrice Member Posts: 1,706 ■■■■■■■■■■I'm still somewhat recovering from Black Hat and DEFCON this year. Although the weather wasn't as hot as in the past, I still felt heat-stroked somewhat. I think one of my favorite talks was the War Kitteh and Denial of Service Dog (https://www.defcon.org/html/defcon-22/dc-22-speakers.html#Bransfield), just for its entertainment value.
Lots of Black Hat videos online:

I thought Dan Geer's keynote was good:

Also check out the tracks from the DEFCON 22 music CD. -
lsud00d Member Posts: 1,571I haven't opened the pcaps from the CTF but was the scenario multiple blue/red teams or a 1v1?
