Just looking for some high level thoughts.

Small start up company making a good amount of sales
3 senior leaders just left all within 3 months off each other
New leadership team brought in never formally introduced
Some positions not being back filled
Lots and I mean LOTS of closed door meetings
Weird tension and uncertainty

I may have missed something but I am just curious what your thoughts are.

First thing that pops into mind, and from a high level thought, and from my experience, I'd say possibly looking to offload the business to another private investor or company.

Second thought that comes to mind is missed sales goals/expectations. The extent of which may not have been communicated to anyone else not needing to be in the know, and they are looking at paring things down.

I agree, you're on a sinking ship, start interviewing. Since you have new management they have no ties to you, that means that instead of layoff with severance you will most likely get canned for some made up reason. This also sounds like a company in deep financial trouble.

All the negatives pointed out here are entirely possible, but. . .

Sounds to me like a merger or sale could be in progress already. You will see high-level, long-term folks leave early if they do not believe they are not a philosophical fit with incoming management (don't see eye to eye).

If your role there fits your career goals, you might want to consider being patient and sticking it out. If nothing else, you might get to add some interesting new experiences to your resume/interviews.

I am staying for sure. Last time I bounced on a "sinking ship" it turned out to be a aquisition. Several of the admins were promoted and moved to another city free of charge on the dime of the new company.

If I had played my cards right I would of stayed. I won't be making that mistake twice. If I get bumped, unemployment then a new job lol

My experience of bringing in new leadership who purposefully separate themselves from existing staff and block all communication is that you're about to encounter a reorganization (with layoffs), outsourcing (with layoffs), or a merger/acquisition (usually with layoffs).

Typically, this is when I start looking very quickly for new opportunities.

I would go to the new management and ask exactly what is going on then offer my services of how I can help what ever is going on go smoothly. This shows management you are dedicated to the company and to yourself.

In the early stages of your career, sure. Past that, it might sound like butt-kissing.

Well it seems alot of the butt kissing is what works in advancing your career. I notice it in the last 30 years I been working. The person that moves up is the one that talks to his superiors, hangs with them, offers to help out as much as can, and so on. I am not sure i call that butt kissing but more being social and offering to help out. I guess I am just too honest of a person and always been direct.

Find out the names of the new leadership team and do some research on their background. If they have a Linkedin profile, odds are you can figure out exactly what they are up to.

Lets look at this a different way possibly.
3 Senior positions all left in a row. Were they close to one another do you know? Reason I ask is the company I am at now our manager left and soon after the director went as well and people did the same thing of "What is going on!?"

It ended up the Manager left for a "could not pass up" offer and he talked to the company and brought the director with him because they were close.

As always when a good amount leave and new people come in and some gaps aren't filled it causes uncertanty. Lots of it.

I think you are right of ride it out for a little and if you get laid off then get unemployment and go get a new job. Keep an eye out on posts in case something good does come along that is worth applying for but for now just see where it goes,

Dig around the water cooler for more information. Start-ups often have crazy leadership transitions and management changes but they are also completely unsafe until there is some form of stability in the leadership.

Yeah I am 6 in one hand half dozen in the other on this one.

I think the best move for me is to just keep delivering. I like the job A LOT and I like my bosses. Honestly if I didn't like the job I would hope for a buy out but in this situation I like our dynamics.

I'll just keep my eyes and ears peeled and hope the the best.

I don't want to jump ship yet because I see that we are doing a lot of brand new things.
