Anyone Teach Classes for a living?

Interested to see if anyone is or has been a certified instructor for CompTia/Isc2/MicroSoft/ISCA/UKI? Or any other organizations?

I was wondering how the instructor role works, are you given a percentage per class or number of students?

Is it all based on your own marketing, or are customers forwarded to your region?

Also, how was the quality of life?

Depends on the institution. Most pay by the contact hours. I have seen per-student compensation. My main job is an expert JOAT freelancer on a per-incident basis. I adjunct on the side to fill the time. Almost all the institutions require you be certified. Higher education institutions require either a bachelor's or master's degree. Go search online for adjunct positions.

My high school a long time ago we did the hardware class for A+ but everything after that was programming.

I have taught online for the last six years as a college adjunct. My current position has a great pension, so I would be hard pressed to leave my full time work. However, I typically make between 70k to 115k teaching online courses over the last five years or so. Most of the colleges pay you per class typically between 1500 to 2300 for between five to 11 weeks. Jdancer is correct though in that you need a graduate degree to apply for the position.
