Just spotted this on twitter too. Nice to see them bring logging down to LPIC1.

How does this effect the Linux+ Powered by LPI exam?

Haven't seen anything noted on the CompTIA site. Want to make sure I'm not blindsided by new content when I take my exam on the 20th.

as stated on their website. let me quote this
We realize that you may be in the process of studying for exam using previously published study materials. To help make it easier to take the version of the exam you have studied for, we are going to offer both the old and new test versions from the release in January 2015 until June 30th, 2015.

Does it mean in testing center you'll have to choose whether its the old and the new test versions?

I think it means that you can book either one. The one you book is the one you will sit.
If you want to sit the old one then you can until June 30 2015.
