Ideas on Salary?
I have an interview for this position coming up soon. I have not been given a salary range or asked to provide my own.
Any ideas based on the job description? I am in Atlanta. Reviews on glassdoor are mixed, and this job seems to be a revolving door as it's been posted multiple times over the past year.
"What you'll do:
• Performs administration of Windows based machines in a large multi-domain environment.
• Has administrative access to a production server that is required for resolving all issues.
• Reviews error and audit logs.
• Works with vendors, I.T. staff, NSA Engineers, and end users to troubleshoot problems with server applications.
• Assists in policing our usage policies (spam, ****, warez, eggdrop bots) and works with customers and internal organizations to find a resolution to the issues.
• Monitors system performance, performs preventive maintenance, troubleshoots and analyzes cause of performance problems.
• Works on problems of moderate scope.
• Exercises judgment using procedures and practices to determine appropriate course of action.
• Assists in the distribution of newly developed software, features, changes, and more to production machines.
• Performs migrations of customer data as needed to maintain balanced loads on systems.
• Performs on-call duties as required.
The ideal candidate will have:
• At least 4 years of System Administration experience, meaning you are a guru when it comes to system administration tools and processes.
• Expert knowledge and use of Windows
• Knowledge of commands/utilities including but not limited to Apache or IIS, FTP, telnet, ssh, SMTP, POP, IMAP.
• Able to work with networked/distributed computing environment concepts.
• Ability to work independently on projects - we're trusting you to keep things in check.
• Ability to write scripts in some administrative language (Tk, Perl, a shell, vbscript, etc.).
• Solid understanding of Intel-based server hardware, including RAID configuration.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience."
