Good day, I have a situation that is a bit confusing, but I really want to accomplish it, I am an I.T guy, what I mean is, for the past 3 years I have been working in I.T department, I handled a little bit of everything because the companies that I joined is not really an I.T company, so I do the hardware, a bit of networking, and infrastructure, I handled servers, My problem is this, I want to pursue a career in Infrastructure, by taking an Windows Server 2012 exam, i have a bit of experience on this one, very little, but I also want to have a sideline, of doing websites, only front end developing or web design, Is it possible to pursue this two avenues at the same time, I have more experience on doing websites, because some of the companies that I joined ask me to do it, but right now i will pursue a freelance on websites, so I need to be more competitive on my skills, I am now working as backup administrator, and this job has nothing to do with Win server 2012, Please I need the opinion of many about my situation,

These are two different paths but nothing wrong with learning Windows 2012 as you can do web hosting and design on these servers...I honestly say go after what your heart desires.

It's definitely possible. Don't expect to do both of those things in a very large companies but I've seen plenty of sys admins do some web development work for the same company. Heck I've even seen network engineers do some web development work for the company but those are smaller to medium sized companies where responsibilities can vary.
