You don't need to take math or English assessments to take the A+ exam.

A+ exams can only be taken at testing centers which you visit in person. They cannot be taken online.

If you are asking about training, all you really need is an Exam Cram book to pass: A+, Network+, Security+, Server+, and a few othe entry level exams.
