Do I need to pass the CCNA before I take the CCNA Data Center exam? Is it a requirement?

CCENT (ICND1) qualifies you to sit for CCDA or CCNA:S.
OR
You can complete the CCNA (either ICND1 + ICND2 or CCNA composite) and then go for the CCDA or CCNA:S.
