passed 70-290

passed the exam first time round on wednesday, scored 953.

it wasn't too bad, i found it easier than XP. like the questions were clearer and more to-the-point.

i guess the major areas i was tested in were:

backup and restore,
permissions,
performance,
terminal services,
uh well i can't remember much.

but what i wasn't tested on (or hardly) was IIS, disk management, group roles, licensing, anything to do with hardware, EMS, and no VB script stuff.

the time allotted was more than sufficient, i did all the questions (44), went over each of them again, and still had a good half hour left.

yes, the questions are definately shorter than XP. for the most part, anyhow.

well naturally, be sure you know your stuff, and don't get lazy because you hear its easy.
cuz there are others who have failed it 5-6 times in a row.
then again, i did study for 3 months for this exam.
expect it to be difficult, and you just might find it...not so difficult.

Can i share from you the study materials used for your exams. I have scheduled my 70-290 to march 2006 when i think i would have gotten the required adequate practical experience

well i used a "manual" of sorts from my training provider, but whatever, it just gave the basics.

then i used the Exam Cram 2 book, making sure that i actually tried out everything they talked about.

then i used preplogic practice exams, and any free practice exams or questions i could find on the net.
