Hi I have just purchased a Cisco 2621 Router which came 4 serial interfaces, it is the top Router in the attached picture.
These interfaces are unlike the ones on my 2514 Router, bottom router in the attached picture.
My questions are:
What type of serial cable do I need to purchase for the 2621 router ?
Can I connect the 2 routers serially - 2621 to 2514 ?
Do I need some sort of serial converter - V.35 to ? cable

MTciscoguy Member Posts: 552Yup, those are WIC 2T cards, I own several of them. You need a
WIC 2T to DB60 DCE Male to DTE Smart Serial Cable, Lots of them being sold on Ebay, which is where I purchased mine, and don't worry, you don't have to buy branded cables, I purchase mine from a company called Dantrak. The connection on your 2514 is a DB60, not a DB25 so make sure to get the correct cable, both of my 2503 routers have the same connections and I have them connected to my 1841 routers with the WIC 2T cardsCurrent Lab: 4 C2950 WS, 1 C2950G EI, 3 1841, 2 2503, Various Modules, Parts and Pieces. Dell Power Edge 1850, Dell Power Edge 1950. -
