Pearson VUE to Deliver MCP Exams for Microsoft - WSJ.com

On July 14, Microsoft announced it will conclude its relationship with Prometric as an exam delivery provider on December 31, 2014. Candidates who wish to take an MCP exam after December 31, 2014, must schedule their exams through Pearson VUE.

Not sure how I feel about this change. I remember when Microsoft used both Vue and Prometric.

I see this is good news. I'm in the opposite boat, I have to drive 2 hours to a Prometric testing center. I also prefer Pearson testing centers. Not as regimented / military as Prometric.

I think they are more Pearson Vue testing centers than there are Prometric. I know for me, there are two Prometric sites I can go to. One 15 minutes away, one 45 minutes away. As for Pearson Vue, I have probably 40+ within that area the Prometric covered. That's a huge help.

I see it as good news as well. There are so few Prometric testing centers compared to Pearson. I have to drive 2+ hours to a Prometric center. I have 3 Pearson Vue within 30 miles.

Mixed emotions--I absolutely love the Prometric testing center by me, however I abhor Prometric's customer service and hope the business collapses due to it.

The Prometric site is so horrible, I applaud this move for that reason alone.

Wasn't it just a few years ago they dumped Pearson and went with Prometric? Reminds me of the MCSA/MCSE naming fiasco.

This is great news for us WV residents. Now I don't have to drive over an hour out of state just to take an exam.

I'm glad to see this change. I also have a lot of trouble with Prometric's site, while Vue's site is fairly easy to use.

Terrible, rude service, archaic processes, matchlessly unhelpful, good riddance. Bring on anyone else, these guys are terrible.

Prometric is a travesty. They basically do everything in their power to ensure you fail and lose your money.

Case in point I've gone 3 times to an affiliate and twice directly to their building. I passed all 3 times at the affiliate. Failed whenever I went to their building.

Their testing centers are horrific and they resemble their customer service. Their affiliate test sites are much better.. Friendlier testing environment.

The sites around me that are Prometric testing sites also did Pearson Vue, so locations will not change for me. The computers that are used will change and there will be more seats available for use but that is about it. The staff will remain the same and I assume the rules for entry like turning out your pockets and lifting your pant legs will be the same.
