Hey That is awesome! I am also wanting to start on September 1, with my associates degree and certifications I transferred in 84 CU. I too want to do the IT-Security, I only worry that if I wanted to do a masters it might not be accepted at another institution.

oh man you are waay ahead of me! they didnt accept IT classes i took at a community college because it has been about 6 years1. i know people from here who received a BS IT from wgu and applied to master program at GMU and got accepted.

That is great news you are starting and recieved some transfer credits! I am looking into WGU now as well. Is there a class breakdown which described all the classes, I see everyone posting the class naming such as UBT1, but what is that class and what is covers etc.

    Thanks and Congrats!

It's a regionally accredited school. If you have specific MS programs in mind just call those schools and ask about the transfer.

you can go to the wgu site and download the PDF and they describe it there, which degree are you going after?

What I am somewhat curious about is if this degree would be adequate for a job working for the government.

^^I don't see any reason why it wouldn't. WGU is regionally accredited, just like any of the big state schools.

actually the government wants its workers to go to online universities. like where i work at, a lot of the govt workers here attend UMUC(online)

I can't help but laugh at this place just because of the name. University of Maryland University College is probably the single most redundant thing I've ever heard.

I wouldn't sweat it too much. The amount of time I've spent in college with nothing to show but an A.S. is laughable.

    -2.5 years at Indiana University
-a semester at a community college
    -a semester at IUPUI
-3 years at DeVry, where I got my A.S.
    -...and now starting at WGU

And I turn 30 in about a month. So yeah....
