question about acl

ok i was doing a exam which had a question that went like
a router has 2 Fa int and 1 serial int configured to route both IP and IPX. whats the max num of ip acl that can be configured?
im not sure what it is. the curiculum said "There should be one access list per protocol per direction"
im guessing 3 or 6 but not sure.
can someone help me?

you can have 2 per interface one in and one out. 2 ethernet and 1 serial.
i'm not sure the number of rules allowed per ACL but it's alot.
