I spent the 2 months studying, but really had been skimming textbooks for 6 months.
Materials used:- Todd Lammle's CCENT Textbook
- Wendel Odoms CCENT Textbook <--only for skimming and review after completing Lammle's. (different author's words help)
- CBT Nuggets and some DanCourses(youtube)
- ICND1 Series with Jeremy Cioara
- ICND2 Series review of ICND1 with Jeremy Cioara (A GREAT REVIEW)
- ICND1 Exam Walkthrough Series with Barker and Sequeira
- Transcender Exams, For Dummies practice exams, repeat of textbook questions.
- Packet Tracer before I got my lab
- Home Lab
- Hand Written Notes
Technique:
1. Watch Video with Jeremy
2. Read Chapter (will be easier because you watched video)
3. Write notes of relevant information.
4. LAB LAB LAB LAB LAB LAB LAB LAB SUBNET SUBNET SUBNET SUBNET SUBNET
5. Review videos and practice exams/chapter questions.
I will say, Labbing is the key to passing. Its the only way to get familiar with the IOS and the commands tested.
There is also no guessing on subnetting. You either know it or you don't.
I've compared both old and new ICND1 exam topics. This is probably twice as hard with much more material.
On to ICND2! Hopefully before the year's over.
