:D

This weekend I have accepted an offer working under Lockheed Martin working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Hanover, New Hampshire for around 52,000 a year with 3 % yearly rases and full benefits plus help for paying for certifications for which I am exited for I would love to go for ITIL and MCSA Win 7 in the next 1-2 years plus I am making plans to go back to college to finish my degree. However the bit of down side is I will be moving from VA for the next 5-10 years for they want someone who will stay there for many years, but I do have assistance to help me move and family in nearby MA plus I can always come back to visit VA state on the amtrack that can take me to Norfolk, VA, this sounds good so far right?

Do they require you to work there for at least 5 years if you do accept the position? It sounds like an excellent opportunity, though not excellent enough to be locked down into a single position for 5 years, especially this early in your career.

Oh no they dont require a minimum of years I have to work there, I can leave the next year if I wish but I doubt I will do that since the money for now is good, and the area from what I see is nice.

Besides getting a job that is very long term and high pay I am glad I will have nothing to do with a help desk anymore, I had alot to learn but damn the micromanaging sucks, and some of the calls.

Wow you got the job with your current certifications?

    @ Justin

Sort of while the minimum was A+, Net+, Sec+ (either of them) they also wanted some one with plenty experience and experience on the customer service side of things, I currently support a command with the Marines where I help assist GS-13 to SES and Officers up to a LT General, I guess they liked that, plus I was willing to move to NH, either way its good stuff.

P.S. While I do need and will be getting more certs I am no complete noob in IT, however do admit of someone had a degree and certs over me I would have lost out probably.

Sounds like a cool gig. I always enjoyed break fix, it's pretty easy work and at that pay rate good for you!

I like you plan to go back to school and get your degree. Try to follow through with that and see if the company will pay for it.

Yeah thats the plan for now, and I agree about break fix, plus it is nowhere as crazy as a HD and I do get to learn alot still, I am truly lucky to gain this position.
