Must have browser plugins?

Asif DaslAsif Dasl Member Posts: 2,116 ■■■■■■■■□□
I use chrome, I've installed these so far:

LastPass - Well Duh
Google Docs
Google Translate
Hover Hound - NewEgg price comparison
The Camerlizer - Amazon.com price tracker
Elmnts - study sounds
Timer - countdown/alarm

Any others which I'm missing out on?

I'd be interested in hearing plugins for other browsers too...

Thanks in advance!

Adblock Plus is an almost impulsive installation for me nowadays for a new browser setup.

No one. The more plugins you have the more exposed you are ;)

Same for me! And I find that they slow down your browser.

Another perspective on this is the tradeoff of having the plugin installed vs the service it provides you.

For Adblock plus, which is an open source plugin (we can see any potential backdoors or malicious code that might be in there) and removes multiple types of page ads including those video ads that play before the stuff you want to watch on Youtube, I would say the tradeoff of having a plugin installed is worth the minimal to no performance loss you get from it.

On top of that, many of those ads that are being blocked by Adblock can be malicious in nature so from a security perspective you are probably better off having Adblock installed than not having it installed.

@yzT & @JasminLandry - not even LastPass? I thought everybody used that these days, I even use a fingerprint reader to properly secure it too.

I can't say I've seen any slowdown at all, and I'm not looking for anything which adds sparkles to my website or anthing. I feel like I've just said I use registry cleaners on my PC! haha..

@nosoup4u & LauraMalave - Thanks, I'll check those out later.

    ^^ Edit - I agree with Vask3n's post above!

Interesting! I'll give them a try.
