VCP 4 upgrade / recert question
slinuxuzer
Guys, I got my VCP back in like late 2011 early 2012 I think, I need to upgrade to 5, I took Vmware optomize and scale 5.1 back in feb 2013, do I need any additional course to upgrade to 5?
Also, what exam code do I need? I just want to stick with data center virtualization.
Thanks in advance.

the path is laid out in the blue print and under the VCP5-DCV. I'm not to sure if there is a time expiration on your O&S course though.

You'll be "expired" after next March, but you'll already have met the class requirement, so you can take VCP5-DCV until the O&S 5.x class drops off the list of accepted classes.

You don't need to take any more training - in fact no VCP4-DCV holders do prior to their certification expiry date regardless of whether they've taken other training, because of the recertification policy.
You can take either the VCP510 or VCP550 exam - the former is based on vSphere 5.0/5.1 and the latter on 5.5 - the objectives for each exam are different so review the blueprint for each exam over on vmware.com and take your choice of exam.
