Unfortunately I some how drew the short end of the stick and I will not be going to VMworld this year . I was wondering what blogs you guys will be watching or regularly frequent for virtualization news?
I also heard a humor that between VMworld and the end of this year you will be allowed to take the VCP6 without the class prereq.

SimonD. Member Posts: 111Considering VMware haven't even announced vSphere 6 yet it's all supposition with regards to VCP exams but as Josh mentioned, it's very unlikely that the VCP 6 exam won't require a class requirement (it's been the backbone of the VCP exam since forever).
As far as news is concerned, I tend to watch Twitter (I follow a number of bloggers who usually post fairly soon after they have the news) instead of going to specific blogs. My Blog - http://www.everything-virtual.com

I presume VMware won't remove the typical first few month though where you can "upgrade" your VCP without course ?My own knowledge base made public: http://open902.com -

GSXRules Member Posts: 109While you've "always" been able to upgrade for the first few (3?6? I don't remember) months w/o a class, the recertification policy says no class is required for any upgrade/update/cross-train if you are not expired. So if you acheive VCP5-DCV the day VCP6 is available you have 2 years to take the new exam w/o a class.

scott28tt Member Posts: 686 ■■■■■□□□□□A lot of things that influence this could change - first we have to see vSphere 6, then there would be the release of the VCP-level exam for vSphere 6, and there's the current recertification policy, and potentially some form of upgrade policy..
So, today nobody can answer your question about VCP 100% accurately.VCP2 / VCP3 / VCP4 / VCP5 / VCAP4-DCA / VCI / vExpert 2010-2012
