HP Proliant DL160 SSD Drive install question
Jon_Cisco
I am probably missing something very obvious but I would like to connect a SSD drive to the server to install virtual machines on .
Can anyone direct me to the type of connector I would need to attach a regular SSD drive to the server. I expected to the tray to have a normal SATA connection but I was wrong.
Sorry for the basic questions but I'm learning new things every day!

For now while I am testing I am just letting the drive suspend itself on the connectors.
I'm not real comfortable with doing that after I put it into my lab. I guess I can make a little wedge to hold it in place but there must be standard trays for this type of thing. I'll search tomorrow night after I have had some rest.

For those of you that are curious, this is what I use:
ICY DOCK MB882SP-1S-2B 2.5" to 3.5" SATA 6Gb SSD & Hard Drive Converter / Adapter / Bracket - Newegg.com

Just to follow up in case anyone else is putting a lab together. I ordered the ICY Dock and it fit perfect.
Nothing fancy. Plastic case that holds smaller SSD and two clips that keep it in place. All of the screw holes lined up correctly.

I went with this:
