Internships

Hey guys,

Are there are any companies that offer IT internships? I'm looking around and I'm finding a lot of these 'IT internships' require some degree of programming/software development as well. I'm not really into programming, I'm more into network administration / systems. I'm trying to look around for something in Canada, any help would be great.

Thanks everyone.icon_thumright.gif

Could you link me? Just curious as to what the reqs etc are. If needed, I can always relocate, I would just 'prefer' if I could get something within Canada.

    Thanks a lot, much appreciated!

Most of the reqs are basic IT knowledge as those Internships you will mainly do desktop support or support for the help desk staff. The ones you are talking about are more like internships for educated computer science students, not on the same ship as most of the folks here in the forum.

Most college's have a career center and sometimes put on a career fair once a semester. Those would be a good place to start looking too.

Pull up Centurylink's website and check the careers section, search for intern in the positions. There are 2 up right now, one in Portland/Seattle, another in Monroe. One says IT other says HR, but if you look they're pretty similar in duties.

Go to you University's job fairs. We have tons of technology interns and we primarily get them through recruiting at university's.

I got my internship by contacting companies directly. So in my case I just searched for NOCs in my city and emailed them with my CV.

That's right, I got mine though searching indeed, actually got a reply from Google using them, and my current manager told me there was only 5 other who applied and he thought damn the job market must be picking up not many people is interested in such a good opening lol.
