Does anyone know if VCE has a policy to exclude UCS blades from support if these are taken out of the virtual environment and are being used as standalone physical server ? So rather than using as ESXi host, use them as Windows / Linux server etc.

Also referred to as a bare-metal host... Basically, VCE support will help you through the UCS side, not including the OS installed UCS drivers or powerpath. Those two could have a "warm handoff" to Cisco and EMC respectively. Keep in mind that there are other considerations when dealing with bare metal hosts. For example, on the array, LUNs for the those bare metal hosts need to come from pools not used by the ESXi hosts.Current Study Track
