If you need to check the file hash - this is a great little addition to Windows Explorer... -

Is anyone having trouble signing in to download the trial from the Eval center? -

Asif Dasl Member Posts: 2,116 ■■■■■■■■□□I really like it, Microsoft is back in business!
...- It took me exactly an hour to download.
- It took me 10 minutes to install from start to finish (VMware Tools) - On an i7-4700HQ with RAID-0 SSDs - no exaggeration.
- Much improved start menu.
- Resizable windowed or fullscreen apps.
- Charms are gone.
- 4 Window snap assist is a welcome addition.
- Multiple desktops but I already use Dexpot already so nothing new there.
- It has IE-11 on it, so will still be using Chrome so!
- Very like Windows 7/8/8.1 mashed up in a blender that I think it will appeal to most people & enterprises.
You know the way people said Windows 7 was what Windows Vista should have been, well Windows 10 is what Windows 8 should have been.
Much will change, it needs polishing - it's a technical preview and we still have the release candidates to come but hopefully not too much will change, I like this very much I must say... -

Tyb Member Posts: 207 ■■■□□□□□□□I went ahead and dove in and installed it on my work machine, worse case I will have to reimage. I just hope that they get the remote admin tools out quickly. So far I am liking what MS has done, only glitch we have found so far is the scroll bar will flicker in some windows.WGU BS:IT Security (March 2015)

J_86 Member Posts: 262 ■■□□□□□□□□Anyone else trying this out in VirtualBox? I got it to install with no problems, but I can't get full screen mode to work because the guest additions will not install..
I noticed they included Skype right out of the box with this. -

I did the same, "upgraded" my D630 from Windows 8 to this. Office 2013 works fine, although it had to "reconfigure" itself. Only issue I've noticed so far is that RSAT broke, so no more MMC for me. -

stryder144 Member Posts: 1,684 ■■■■■■■■□□Posting from Windows 10 Technical Preview running inside VMware Workstation 10. No issues installing the VMware Tools, so it is running in full-screen mode. Very nice. I like what Microsoft did to it. The only thing that confuses me is that the task bar is on the top of the screen.The easiest thing to be in the world is you. alokin123 Member Posts: 268i wish they would just get rid of the windows store apps from the start menu. It just looks really silly merging half of the old start menu and the metro UI. I'm probably the only one but i dont really like it

srabiee Member Posts: 1,231 ■■■■■■■■□□I agree. Honestly, I wish they would just do away with "apps" altogether when it comes to the desktop or enterprise workstation. It's not a damn tablet or phone, "apps" just get in the way and remind me of the identity crisis that is/was Windows 8. I think that aspect of Windows 10 is still going to be rejected by many consumers.WGU Progress: Master of Science - Information Technology Management (Start Date: February 1, 2015)

cranbourne comments on New Windows Version will be called Windows 10Microsoft dev here, the internal rumours are that early testing revealed just how many third party products that had code of the form
if (version.StartsWith("Windows 9"))
{ /* 95 and 98 */
}
else {
and that this was the pragmatic solution to avoid that.
Sounds very plausible... -
