Blog posts give you the most points for your effort, task 269 gives you 850 per post. I used my MCSA posts and it still counted, you can do it 4 times per prestige level. They give vExperts out for being a VMware virtualization evangelist so it helps to talk about VMware obviously but I slid by with my posts. I've only 4 posts to go and I'm going to do some YouTube videos on setting up a lab for those and going forward too... not sure if you get it right away or at the next announcement of vExperts which I think is in 2015.. -

If I were a VCAP this would upset me as well. And to make it worse, VCAs are worth 850 each! There were two tasks for each VCA, the regular task worth 250 points, then the "anniversary edition" worth 600.Certification To-Do: CEH [ ], CHFI [ ], NCSA [ ], E10-001 [ ], 70-413 [ ], 70-414 [ ]

Asif Dasl Member Posts: 2,116 ■■■■■■■■□□There are benefits of being a vExpert, but yes I want to go contracting when I get back to work and it all counts. I don't see it as much as a VCAP or VCDX in my eyes but sadly vExpert probably has more recognition generally. I saw the first VCAP job over here today - I was shocked. I know partners are hiring VCAPs but haven't seen any jobs asking for it outright, mostly VCP + experience.

Getting 365 day trial keys can be helpful if you don't want to pinch your employers keys for the lab or spend actual real money.
Plus it can help in any job search, especially when applying for VMWare related jobs in partners and MSP (hence hiring managers actually knowing what a vExpert is).
But most of all bragging rightsMy own knowledge base made public: http://open902.com -
JBrown Member Posts: 308You should be able to get 1 or 2 year licenses for vCenter, ESXi, and vCloud via Stanley CC. They have their VMware store at onthehub. Given that you did take a class with Stanley in the past or present.
