CIDR

Hi All,
I just wanted to know is CIDR in the exam objective? I came across few subnetting questions based on this topic. Something like this:
192.168.10.0/24.The number of hosts required is 60 and then 28.how can we solve this problem?
Please let me understand this concept.
Thanks

Cisco will mention if a network supports CIDR, or they tell you that ip subnet-zero is enabled. So in the exam it will be obvious which formula you should use. In a basic subnetting question without any mention of CIDR or ip subnet zero, you will have to subtract the "2".
