Here is the contents of my lab. I am curious if I should change the IOS, and which IOS I should change to.

TheShadow Member Posts: 1,057 ■■■■■■□□□□It depends on what you want to do. Just like windows and linux there is a detailed release letter that says what they fixed. The routers are current enough for study.
the 2820 is basically a 1900 switch that handles more addresses 1900 = 1k, 2822 = 2k, 2828 = 8K. If it does not have the K option on the menu then it does not have enterprise software and won't handle vlans. You have two other switches so it is no big deal. However if you want to update it I found a image via google on a couple of ftp sites. For some reason only the standard image was on cisco when I looked recently. Look for either of these two. cat1900EN.9.00.06.bin or cat1900EN.9.00.07.bin
for your routers here is what you need to decode the letters in the release. so the 2610 is ip plus with rmon and the 2511 is enterprise plus
