They kept asking why I sent them my resume and I kept responding that I didn’t. I then explained that one of their employees kept asking for it. The look on everyone’s face was priceless. Offer letter on the WAY!!!!And in conclusion your point was.....???

Comments:I love this place, i have learned a lot, the IT dpmt has a great budget, i have plenty of servers to play, im free to implement whatever i think is best for the company, i use my knowledge on server and linux, im learning a lot of VoIP,SQL and i have access to whatever i want.
My boss is always encouraging the techs and admin to get more certification and the company pay the certs if we pass. They have a lot of book related to several certifications.
But what i would like to do, is to offer VoIP services based on asterisk. -

Comments: Wish I have time to study for my CCNA but my boss is a micromanage freak and it's hard to study but on my own time only even when there is a little bit of down time. Otherwise I get by for now till I get my CCNA and then CCNP and CCVP and move to bigger and better things if I don't get promoted once I get certified.
I once tried getting them to pay for a PBX training class because I take care of a Nortel Option 11c and Octel 2500 voice messaging system. They said that they will not pay for it because is afraid that I might leave after I get trained. DUH!!, that is where you can make the employee sign a contract stating that I must stay here for certain amount of years or time before I can go else where, am I right or am I wrong? All I wanted to do was extend my knowledge more and not take the training and leave.
Then I tried asking to see if they will pay for some networking courses and was told that they already have network engineers doing the routing of routers, Active Directory, etc... and there is no need for me to learn it. So, what do you think? How am I suppose to advance if they won't even let me learn nor help work on the actual routing and re-routing of the switches and routers?
Chances of moving up is hopeless. And that is why I am studying on my and pursing the CCNA,CCNP and CCVP. Hopefully CCIE down the road once I get more hands on experience and knowledge. Sorry for my long rant. -
