This one is for those who work in consulting.
I have a few questions. This is my first time working as a consultant. I work for projects when they are around. And when they are not I spend time doing a lot of things that do not make money for the company.
1. How do you spend time during downtimes ?
2. How can you help the company find work for you ?
Any suggestions or advice is welcome !

- Working on your technical and business skills
- POC new technologies
- Blog about projects you have done with the company
- Study for certs (which you already have a mighty fine list!)
As far as finding business--I would run that by internal management. There should be processes in place already and you don't want to overstep any boundaries or even do something illegal. -

2. You can help with presales and proposal writing. Some people like it, but its best to spend that time sharpening your skills so when work comes in you get it done to the highest quality your capable of.
3. If you guys have a NOC, give them a hand. Let them know you have some free time and offer training, or help them with hard to solve problems.Currently Reading
