Cisco Embedded packet capture
Hi,
I have been using Cisco embedded packet capture for a while now, but I have not been able to find exactly where in the flow it takes the capture from.
So for example if I set it to capture on Gig 0/1 out going, how can i be sure that a packet that is mirrored and captured is actually sent out the interface on to the wire? I know I could put a tap in front of the port to check, but I am looking for what happens to the packet/frame between the time it is mirrored and it physical leaving the device? What could I miss by using a embedded capture rather than a physical TAP on the wire?
Cheers
