Salary Info for Linux Sys Admin?

I am trying to get a good range for an entry level Linux Admin position in the NOVA area. I compared 3 titles on Salary.com and got pretty high numbers. A Sys Admin I is 62k for 0-2 years exp, Unix Admin is 100k for 2-5 years exp, Linux Admin is 93k for 3-5 years. Could not find entry position categories for the Unix and Linux admins. Does this seem about right? What would you expect to get with a BSIT degree and no admin exp in Linux?

I would use glassdoor for your salary inquiries in the specific area. I've found them to be the most accurate.

+1 Glassdoor is probably most accurate due to employee feedback/reviews. Salary.com/Indeed.com seem to have highly inflated numbers. Keep in mind that if you become more proficient in Linux or Unix, you will be able to achieve higher salary ranges than a regular Windows admin since the demand/supply gap is much different.

I've been wondering the same thing. Been playing around w/ *nix lately and half considering going serious w/ it. But wondering whether that might be a good move for the future, vs networking.
