I heard DNS was mentioned in the exam, it appears the microsoft book does not cover much if any of it,

I just took the exam recently and I did not have one question on DNS.

DNS is covered in the 291 exam (Network Infrastructure). It may be mentioned in that you must have a DNS server for AD, but no more detail than that.
