no!all! Member Posts: 245 ■■■□□□□□□□Seeing how I've lived in MD for 20 years I'd definitely go with Hawaii! But that's just me....Yea, Hawaii is $68k...but you get to live on a beatiful island and who knows when you'd get another chance like that? Again, that's just me, good luck in whatever you choose though!A+, N+, S+, CCNA:RS, CCNA:Sec

bigdogz Member Posts: 881 ■■■■■■■■□□IMHO I think you should go for the MD job because of the better educational system for your children, and your family in the long run.
You may also just want to put a lime in the coconut and you drink them both up and feel better. Sorry that song just came to me when I was thinking about Hawaii.
Good Luck in your decision. -
thenjduke Member Posts: 894 ■■■■□□□□□□I would do MD. Here is a good website to figure out cost of living. I used it moving from NJ to TN.

ArabianKnight Member Posts: 278 ■■■□□□□□□□What did you choose? I imagine the deadline for the offers was today. I would wait until the kids are out of the house, then go to Hawaii!

Well in the end I choose the MD job. I appreciate everyone’s input! What finally swayed my decision is a comparison of the educational system between MD and HI. I didn’t even consider the educational systems until someone had mentioned here on the forum. The differences are night and day! -
aderon Member Posts: 404 ■■■■□□□□□□Ok so I have two job offers on the table and I literally have no idea which one is better/worse. I can’t even come to a conclusion making a positive and negatives table. Any advice would help…
Hey would you be willing to share a bit about what certifications you have, whether you have a degree or not, and what your experience is like?
I'm interested in applying to jobs similar to those and I'm curious what they'd like to see before they give an offer.2019 Certification/Degree Goals: AWS CSA Renewal (In Progress), M.S. Cybersecurity (In Progress), CCNA R&S Renewal (Not Started) -
Cyberscum Member Posts: 795 ■■■■■□□□□□And too add a new dimension to the whole situation I was offered an officer job in the military reserves (currently enlisted) as a security specialist commander in my current state. I will most likely stay where I am in the government and become an officer in the reserves as I think this will get me closer to my ultimate goal of CISO/CSO.

gadav478 Member Posts: 374 ■■■□□□□□□□Get the 100K gig in MD, take some of the extra 30K (or all of it?), take 3 weeks off and vacation there. Get tired of it and come back home knowing you make the right decision, LOL.
In all seriousness, do what's right for you.Goals for 2015: CCNP -

Cost of Living Comparison: compare Baltimore, Maryland to Hilo, Hawaii
You would basically be taking a 50% pay cut picking Hilo.
(not knowing what city in MD, I went with Baltimore)
