in CCNA & CCENT
So the college i went to FORCED us to buy a test bank and they taught from it. I failed the test by 10 points because i botched a sim. Im studying on my own now and doing it the right way avoiding test banks but i need a good place for questions to see what areas I am weak in to study. Also, I use packet tracer, does anyone know a good place i can get some packet tracer sims or instructions saying do X in packet tracer?

jvrlopez Member Posts: 913 ■■■■□□□□□□Todd Lammle books have great questions and scenarios to go through in packet tracer. IIRC, email him and show him a copy of your receipt for his book and he will share some extra labs with you.And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. lectures, videos, hands on is definately good. But.... your going to have to open a book at one point or another. Todd Lammels book has some great walk through simulators, and his material is MUCH easier to read then cisco. Reading cisco feels like your reading a repair manual for a car lol. -
crazboy84 Member Posts: 67 ■■□□□□□□□□Its not how i learn. I do not retain information through reading, i just dont i lose interest and dont pay attention to what i am reading. What works for most does not work for all.

+1. This.
Networking is all about obtaining extensive amounts of knowledge from books. How else will you catch up with the pack.
Go into any Cisco certified persons study and you'll see books everywhere.

If Hellen Keller could learn to talk without hearing or seeing, im pretty sure i can learn cisco without a book. Ive done just fine so far im scoring in the mid 80s on practice exams. By your logic that should not be possible. I dont take a cert test till i score 90s consistently.
Not everyone learns the same way. You also shouldn't be so standoffish if someone doesn't learn the way you think is the only way. Its not helpful at all. -

I am the same exact way. I got the cbtnugget membership and went through all the ICND 1 from Jeremy. He is really amazing at teaching. But even with that being said you'll have to sometimes get information aside from just the vidoes. I think that's what EdTheLad was trying to get at it not a nice way lol.
But Jeremy's videos are great and he's a great teacher. -
crazboy84 Member Posts: 67 ■■□□□□□□□□Yea im actually going thru jeremys videos right now at work during downtime he explains things in great ways
