CCIE Collaboration and Lab Equipment for CCIE Voice 3.0

sacredboysacredboy Member Posts: 303 ■■■□□□□□□□
Hello guys,

I collected lab equipment for CCIE Voice 3.0 but this track was changed to CCIE Collaboration with it's new lab hardware list.

Those who were preparing for CCIE Voice 3.0 and CCIE Collaboration please give an advice if it's possible to use old hardware for preparation for CCIE Collaboration.

Thank you.
Best, sacredboy!

    Hi mate,

This blog post from INE might be worth a read for you.

Guys I have the following equipment for CCIE Voice 3.0:

    2811 with VIC2-2FXS, VIC2-2FXO, VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1, WIC-1DSU-1T V2, AIM-CUE
    2811 with VIC2-2FXS, VIC2-2FXO, VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1, WIC-1DSU-1T V2
    2811 with VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1, WIC-1DSU-1T V2
    2801 with VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1, WIC-1DSU-1T V2

Are there any other modules I need for my lab?

hmm... You could have a hybrid setup mixing 2800s with 2900s to test the video components or you could use your current equipment to make calls and use rack rentals for everything else. Not sure if you forgot to list it but you need pvdms for those 2800s as well for transcoding and conferencing. Don't forget you need the CUCM 9.1 suite.

I take it one still needs some physical equipment to do the collaboration lab then?

How would I fair with my 1841's? I guessing I'm going to need to buy things (or rack rental) for things??

CCIE Colab lab is a beast, might as well just rent it.

Yeah it's lower down on my list so I'll not worry about it if I have to buy a heap of equipment. But I would love to do it though.

I dunno, doesn't Cisco offer the list of hardware you are tested on?

I've found the information only about devices but no about cards.

your modules are fine. You will need PVDM's in the routers to turn TDM calls into VoIP calls. Also you were pointed to a link earlier in this thread. It should answer most of your questions.

Guys, please give an advice as to which cables do I need for WIC-1DSU-T1-V2 and VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1. There is a T1 crossover cable for WIC-T1-DSU/CSU (like this T1 Crossover Cable to Connect WIC 1DSU T1 in CCNA CCNP Labs 3 Ft | eBay) and there is a T1 crossover cable for VWIC-1MFT-T1. Are they the same?

As far as i know it is the same ;)

but by the way you can build the cable by yourself, maybe cheaper ;);)
