Hey Guys. my boss is letting me attend Cisco Live 2015.

Do you have any tips for me when I attend. I get the full conference and 8 hours of training on Sunday. Maybe any of you who have been there before might be able to give me any helpful tips you learned when you went and can share your wisdom with me.
I still love my job as a network engineer been 5 months plus.

    1. Meet with people from boards and TAC engineers.
    2. Go to a few events.
    3. Spend the rest of the week doing things you aren't suppose to do.

I just filled my schedule with as many 2000 and 3000 level datacenter seminars (mostly UCS) as I could, as well as making sure to take advantage of the chance for a free certification exam (CCDA, in my case, as it's the only single test certification that is directly applicable to my skillset and job direction).

Make sure you take a look through the exhibitors list too and make note of anyone you want to see. Again, in my case, that was mostly storage vendors, as I have a couple of clients looking for upgrades/replacements over the next two years.

Of course, that's all to be taken with a grain of salt, as it's my first year going.

    4) Skip seminars because its like someone reading stereo instructions to you with a bad accent.
    5) Attend World of Solutions Event and load up on free Stuff
    6) Drink Free beer and eat Free Food.
    7) Buy a Cisco Shirt to prove I was there.

    11) Fly home and show my boss the free backpack to prove I was there. Give him a Nerf Cisco football.

Pretty much how I approach these things too.

Haha. If I'm getting everything expensed, I'd be all over that.

came back from Cisco live. Okay I was a geek. It was boring at some meeting but some were good and very informational. I think it is worth going because of the knowledge of where network engineering is going, meeting cool vendors, meeting Cisco CCIEs....free food and all the above that you mentioned. Company paid for everything and it was cool to go...
passed my ROUTE too TSHOOT to go

Yeah, it was a blast. I'll definitely be going in future years even if I have to pay out of pocket.
