Hello, i am trying to enter into the help desk tier 1 jobs later this year. I have been reading a lot about how to enter that job. Many jobs i have been reading require you to have the A+ and Network + cert with experiences about 1-2 years. Now this is my problem, i know by around July and August I will have both cert ready, but how do you apply for a job with no experiences to back it up. I don't attend college right now, but i did for about 2 years then drop out due to reasons. I know about intern jobs but most require you are in college pursuing a degree on I.T related. Please help. Also I live in Miami so how much for starters will I earn when i have the help desk tier 1, or base on you guys first salary on help desk.
GOD Bless.

Greetings and welcome to the forum!
I was in your shoes around 2 years ago and asked that same question on this forum. Let me say that you are taking the right steps by working towards getting the A+ and Network+ certifications. When it comes to helpdesk positions in IT most employers look for an individual with a solid personality, who has great customer service skills and is a team player.
Don't worry about the pressure of needing experience for these positions. Yes experience helps a lot and does put individuals "in front of the pile" so to speak, however you have to believe in your ability to sell yourself to the company you're interviewing for. Show them that you are the right fit for their team. Show them that you are a reliable, dedicated individual who is a quick learner. If they see potential, they will take a chance on you and hire you. That's how I got hired.
My first IT job was helpdesk for a major IT service provider in Nashville. I came in that job with little college credits and a A+ cert. I "wowed" them with my interview and when it came down to the technical test (some employers do this, some dont), I passed it with flying colors. If I can do it, YOU can do it.
As far as salary goes, usually helpdesk positions range from $12-18 /hr depending on the company. In FL, IT salaries are right on the national average..even slightly lower for some positions, helpdesk being one of them.
Blessings back to you!WGU B.S. IT - Progress: Feb 2015 - End Date Jan 2018
WGU M.S Cyber Security & Assurance - Progress: March 2019 - End Date June 2019 -

IF after you obtain those certs keep pushing for other one, even with having a job. Build a lab at home, keep making yourself better, so when someone calls you in for an interview you can shine.
