Trying to connect two routers vial serial cable.
sagarmistry
I have one 2651xm and 2524 trying to connect both via serial cable.
all serial ports i have put no shutdown command. tried 3 different cables.
So what happens is the green light on 2651 comes up and it shows on the screen port is up but after a while it shows port is down.
when i issue show cdp neighbours command it doesn't show me the router connected.
Am I missing any command on the routers?

clock rate on the DCE end of the cable?
Determine which cable is the DCE (If using a DB60 that's easy)
router# show controll s1/0
TOP_MIDDLE#sh controll s1/0
CD2430 Slot 1, Port 0, Controller 0, Channel 0, Revision 19
Channel mode is synchronous serial
idb 0x8157E27C, buffer size 1524,
V.35 DCE cable
router(config)#int s1/0
router(config-if)#clock rate 64000

What commands did you issue on each connected serial interface?

I got one right?? YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
no!all!
I had a similar problem connecting my two 2610's via DTE/DCE crossver. I set the clock rate and everything and the interface was still up/down. Chalked it up to a bad cable or card...I just went with two 2851's instead
