Does VMware retire old exams fast like Cisco?

VCP-550 is out but I'm studying for VCP-510.

Would there be a deadline on by when I have to pass 510?

Why would you not just study for 550?

What are the differences between the two curriculums?

I personally doubt that either VCP510 or VCP550 will retire any time soon, but that's purely based on VCP410 only having retired 9 months ago.
