Passed SSCP

I went and took the SSCP this morning and passed on my first attempt. I'm only posting this to share what I used to prepare (and I'm stoked):

All in One SSCP - Darril Gibson

I spent all day yesterday reading the book cover to cover and would highly recommend this book to anyone looking into obtaining the SSCP before the changes in April.

And yes, I'm still in shock that I passed the SSCP after one day of "studying".

I passed the CEH back in August and some of the topics were somewhat similar... I think that helped some. I'll be going for the CISSP once I can meet the experience requirements.

Congrats! Definitely doable in 1 one day if you have the experience and knowledge already.

I have been working as an IS Security Specialist for 3 years. The experience definitely played a factor but cramming in a short period of time is the best way for me to study. I've never been the type of person who can study for months at a time... I really like the 'boot camp' style. And if you're going to wait until April, make sure you pass the first time around or you'll be studying for an entirely new exam. I highly recommend Gibson's AIO SSCP book. He really knows how to deliver the material in a way that you can easily understand.

Everyone is different when it comes to studying. I wish I would have given myself more time as I did want to do some practice exams but you'll know when you're ready. I can't discuss exam material (NDA), but I did a Google search for 'Passed SSCP' just to gauge peoples reactions of the test before I took it... there was one Reddit post that I found helpful.

I haven't taken the Sec+ so I'm not sure. I'm going for the SANS GIAC this summer.

Congrats! I have Gibsons AIO as well, I've had it for a month but haven't had time to even sniff it yet. I hope to be able to go through it before the changeover.
