220-802 Exam A No Go!

Today was the day I took my 220-802 exam and yet it was a no go. To make a long story short, I got up at around 7:00 am this morning. Reviewed my notes. Took a practice 802 exam (passed it) and then took a quick shower to relax my mind a bit and eat a good breakfast since my exam wasn't until 1:45 pm. I arrived at the testing center 30 minutes ahead of schedule and decided to stay in my car at the parking lot to take a quick look at my notes one more time for good measure. At 1:30 pm, I got out of my car and headed for the front door of the testing center. To my surprise, the doors were locked. I looked though a window and seen no one was there. I even want as far as calling the testing center in hoping that someone would answer, but no one did. It just kept ringing and ringing. Finally, I then called Pearson Vue (in which I was on hold for about 15 to 20 minutes) customer service and explained in full detail about the situation. I explained to the customer service representative that I never got a notice of any kind (phone call, e-mail, etc.) from the testing center and or from Pearson Vue, stating that the testing center will be closed today and would have to re-schedule my 802 exam. The customer service rep. decided to call the testing center herself and got no answer (she called twice). She then notated the incident and give me the incident number, along with the phone number to CompTIA. I politely informed her that I will not be paying for another voucher since (through no fault of my own) I received no notification from neither the testing center or Pearson Vue. She explained to me that she is going to submit the incident report to CompTIA to investigate the incident and would have to wait 3 to 5 business days to find out if the matter will be resolved. If approved, the voucher fee will be waived and then I would be able to re-schedule the 802 exam. She also stated that its the responsibility of the testing center to notify Pearson Vue of any exam cancellations and closures so that Pearson Vue may notify the candidate and re-schedule. The customer service rep then informed me that if I did not hear anything from CompTIA, to give them a call to inquire about the status of the investigation. Talk about a good day going bad. Now it's just a waiting game between me, the testing center, and CompTIA. I hope this can be resolved asap since this is not my fault. I was really hoping to post good news today and informing members of this forum that I became CompTIA A+ Certified. But that is not the case. I'll just waited out and see what happens.

Techie19 Member Posts: 88 ■□□□□□□□□□Wow, sorry to hear about this. This really sux that the testing center never let Pearson Vue know so they can in turn reach out to you and make you aware.
I recently had to reschedule my 802 because the testing center I was scheduled to take my exam at closed. I received an email from Pearson Vue to reschedule.
You should have no issues rescheduling as this is not in any way your fault. Sux though that now you have to wait until CompTIA communicates with PEaraon Vue. Like the rep said though, if you don't hear back from them in a few days call them and keep calling until you get this resolved.
Only thing I can say though is to look at this in a positive way. I believe everything happens for a reason. Maybe you just weren't meant to take the exam today. It may not make sense to you but sometimes things have a weird way of turning out.
Again sorry this happened to you. Good luck in getting this whole mess situated and post back with what they tell you. Curious to know what CompTIA is going to say.Systems Support Specialist

Like the previous poster said 'everything happens for a reason', look at it posively. I got more study time becaues of rescheduling, and was more prepared to go into it next time. -

After 4 days of waiting to hear from either from Pearson VUE or CompTIA, I finally got my new voucher and the fee waived approved by Pearson due to the testing center failing to notify me that they were going to be closed on the day of my exam. I am now scheduled to take the 220-802 exam on the 20th of this month. Now that I got that taken cared of. I can now continue to study some more on the 802 exam. Wish me luck everyone.Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer & Network Security
